We have chosen to write about the multicultural USA. We’ve focused mostly on religions, and the differences between Judaism, Islam, Amish and Mormons. We will discuss the United State as a multicultural society, for example which challenges they are up against and which benefits a multicultural society have? Hanna has written about Judaism, but has concentrated mostly on orthodox Jews. Mikaela wrote about the Amish culture, mainly in Pennsylvania, and a little bit about tourism interrupting their traditional lifestyle. Kaia has written about the Islamic culture in the US, and about how it is for muslims to socialize in USA. She has also wirtten about NOI (Nation of Islam) which is an organization that deals with issues concerning religion, cultural confrontations and challenges. They organize spear time groups and works for Muslims rights. Ingunn has concentraded on Mormons and explains more specific about gender roles and Mormon’s lifestyle. Each category is placed on the top menu.
After this background information, we discuss similarities and challenges for each religion and culture.
Even though we have concentrated on each religion, we have assisted each other on every theme. We have cooperated on the introduction, the main task and the conclusion.
